User Group Meeting Today 27 Nov 2012 @ 7PM

November 27, 2012 11:42 by zack

We are having a last minute .NET User Group Meeting tonight at 7PM.

I'll be giving a presentation on creating jQuery and jQueryUI plugins. Plugins are how we can extend jQuery and create re-usable javascript modules. I'll start off by showing how to create simple plugins and show how you can create composite re-usable controls.

We will also cover using jQuery in an ASP.NET MVC website.

Example code will be available in a public BitBucket repository.

About Me: I'm Zack Moore. I graduated from Mercer with a B.S. in Computer Science in 2000. I've been programming almost as long as I've been able to read when my dad brought home an ATARI 400.

Directions:

Meet in room 204 of the Computer Science Building on Mercer's Campus, Building 14 near the intersection of College ST and Elm ST

September meeting

August 13, 2011 10:30 by davec

Topic:

Building Applications with jQuery Templates

jQuery has been one of the most successful and popular open source project. Microsoft's ASP.Net team has showed love by contributing support for templates.  In this session we will see how to format and render HTML strings from JSON in the browser. And how to take advantage of templates to build ASP.net applications that are rich, maintainable, responsive and interactive.

Bio:

Ritesh Kothari has over 11 years of professional experience and has assisted companies such as Unisys Corporation, Keane Consulting and BCD Travel in building large enterprise- wide applications. He focuses on high-end consulting in the Atlanta region and specializes in Microsoft technologies. At present, Ritesh is consulting with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as an Architect and Lead Developer building a highly scalable web-based solution.

Outside of work he is very active in local user groups, participates in GiveCamp, and has presented to Atlanta code camp, Gwinnett Georgia Microsoft User Group, Atlanta.net User Group and Microsoft Integration Architect User group on topics such as WCF, jQuery and ASP.net. He enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and playing with 3 year-old daughter.

The meeting will be on September 20th at 7pm. There will be drinks and snacks.

Tell anyone and everyone that we'll be meeting on Mercer's campus in the Computer Science Building in Room 204.

See y'all there.

Location: Mercer Computer Science Building.
